As the world begins another new year, I can’t help but wonder: Will I make a difference? At first glance, this thought might seem a little heavy, but it’s not meant to be. It’s about taking an active role in my life and contributing to the solutions the world needs.

Let’s pretend this year is our arrival time. A moment where all the work we’ve done so far encourages us to do more. For me, “more” means investing in myself—body, mind, and spirit—and creating a daily practice where these aspects work in harmony to serve a greater purpose.
Recently, the world has been heavy with negative energy, and many of us feel the need for a positive shift. I often hear people say, “We’re seeking the light,” but the needle barely moves. What if, instead, we imagined a spiritual flashlight that activates within us whenever kindness, compassion, or understanding is needed?
This year, as a personal reminder to embody that light, I’ll carry a small flashlight with me—a simple symbol of the change I need to see and the steps I can take to help create it.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. What’s your symbol for the change you need? Feel free to share in the comments.
